NSJ Blue Marlins week 4
Good afternoon Blue Marlins and Happy Father's Day!
Yesterday’s Black and Blue meet was a huge success. Black won the meet with a final score of 226-206. Thanks to Jeff guy for calculating the score for us. See attachment. Many thanks to all who volunteered at yesterday’s Time Trials, particularly the families that filled multiple volunteer positions helping to make up for the families with swimmers in the meet whose parents did not volunteer for any positions. These amazing swim meets take a village! Please reach out if you have any questions about the volunteer positions. We hope your swimmer(s) had fun! It was a great meet with all the kids swimming extra events to get a base time and they all did amazing. There was even a record IM swum by Brandon Richter!
Summer Practice Schedule
starts Monday (6/17) School is out and practices switch to mornings tomorrow for the rest of the season; enjoy having the full pool! Evening practices are offered for those who cannot attend morning practices.
Spring Lake @ NSJ (6/22)
Please commit or decline your swimmer by Thursday. If you show up on Saturday without committing, your swimmer will not be registered to participate. Volunteer signup is open. Watch for an email mid-week with meet details. If you commit to a meet and your plans change, text the managers. The absence of you and your swimmer(s) may affect relay teams and volunteer positions. We need to hear from you no later than 8:00am each Saturday. Plan to arrive at the pool by 0800 no matter what your swimmer is in as we need to complete check in before we can exchange meet details with the other team. Please text if running late.
PEP RALLYS:
Hope everyone had a great time at the pep rally Friday night. Thank you all for the delicious food and buying so much NSJ swag. Kids seemed to have a blast and the coaches certainly got wet during the water balloon toss. We have 2 pep rallies this week-which makes it very busy and hopefully very fun.
June 19 Pep Rally: is a Blue Marlin Olympics with field day games and events and will end with build your own sundaes. Please RSVP on the swimtopia site so we can have enough for everyone. And we would love help scooping ice cream-please bring a scoop with you!
June 21 Pep Rally:Get excited for the Backyard BBQ event on Friday, June 21st! **Please read the sign up genius for more details on food and activity sign ups (including tie-dying!!!!)**
Be on the lookout for more info on our final rally (7/12). We will be celebrating the holidays early with a Christmas in July theme!

CANOPIES:
It's calling for hotter weather (101 degrees) next weekend so please if anyone has a spare canopy, bring it to the pool so all our timers can be shaded. We will also be adding some umbrellas to the sidelines so our officials, coaches, and announcer can also stay cool.
Stroke and Turn Judges:
We are still in need of one or two more stroke and turn judges. The training is all online and free to you. Please contact us if you could help with this role. The more we have, the more time off you each get!
Concessions:
Thank you everyone that bought some food and treats today. It was a huge success and helps pay for our banquet on July 27. Corinne McHale has taken on the role this year but is looking for someone to shadow her and learn the ropes. Her kids may not be swimming next year so she may moving on. Please reach out if this may be your calling. It fulfills all your volunteer time.
